在近20年教學裡面，其中有同學會問這些「怪syntax(詞組)」:
例:The organization will not devote itself to pleasing them.
【中譯: 機構是不會投身自己取悅他們。】
這句是正確的，但為什麼用to pleasing？究竟是Gerung(Ving)/還是Infinitive(to+v)?
這個情況其實就這典型的兩個例子比較:
I hope to see you again. 【正確。以to see 做infinitive作該句的副動詞】
I look forward to seeing you again. 【也正確。Seeing 做Gerund 作該句的副動詞】
